End of year reflection

MRS HPS Initial Visit Collaboration Reflection

What were we doing? What? We were making new friends and finding new buddies to collaborate with. Most of us made new friends. Now Room 14, and 15 are now working with Flox, and McCahon.


 Why were we there? So what? We were at May road school to share ideas, tips and tricks, to get to know who we are working with and finally collaborate. We first came over to May road school and then got to know some of the students and their background. We then started brainstorming ideas ( May road school students had some awesome ideas) and putting them in different categories. We were then put into groups to focus on 1 idea. Then after a great long morning we said goodbye to our wonderful talented friends.


 What's going to happen? Now what? We are now going to work on genius hour projects as well as getting to know our great friends more from May road School.

On Tuesday McCahon class was looking at being cyber smart and being ethical on the internet.Today we had a DLO (Digital Learning Object) about being cybersmart and now here it is. Here is my DLO. Its about being cyber smart on the internet and what to do and what not to do. This DLO about cyber smart covers the things I think people do a lot on the internet. Hope you enjoy!

My Key competencies reflection term 2

The last two terms have been one of the best experiences of my life. This is mainly because I’ve had a supportive teacher who has helped throughout those two terms and during that time I’ve been becoming a positive Hay Park school Learner. The opportunities I was given were amazing such as the triple R team and various other opportunities. Over the last two terms I was able to take responsibility for my learning, take responsible risks, and persist through the the last two terms. Two key competencies I managed to pull off was persisting because what I did was take the feedback given and used to make my work better and 100% effort, because I learnt to give anything a 100% percent effort because hard work will pay off. Both these key competencies helped me get through the best two terms but the one that stuck with me from the very beginning of the year was take responsibility because sometimes we need to make risks and look at the greater good and because of this key competency I was able to become the person I am today.

Yesterday we had a visit from a famous photographer named Kennedy and he taught us about how mangroves help the environment and weird and wonderful facts on mangroves. After that we had to make a presentation and here is my presentation on mangroves. Hope you enjoy my presentation. Big thanks to Kennedy.

My information report

This term we are learning  about marine habitats. I have been studying the blue ringed octopus.Three cool facts are:
The blue ringed octopus poisons its prey with neurotoxin's (which affects its prey's brain nervous system paralysing its prey)
They can camouflage with its surrounding.The scientific name of the blue ringed octopus is Hapalochlaena.
